Other Plants

Some of the other plants that we typically offer include:

  • Allee Elm (Ulmus Parvifolia)

    A stately tree known for its tough constitution. Provides a wonderful shade tree in a short period of time. Dark green foliage with excellent fall color. Has an upright spreading habit similar to the vase shape of the American elm. Full sun.

    • Height: 40' to 50'
    • Width: 40' to 50'
    • Growth Rate: Medium to fast
    • Foliage: Glossy green leaves.
  • Bald Cypress (Taxodium Distichum)

    Lovely, fast-growing tree with pyramidal shape. Foliage has soft fine texture, yet tree makes a strong vertical statement. Outstanding fall color and is tolerant of many soil conditions. Full sun.

    • Height: 50' to 60'
    • Width: 20' to 25'
    • Growth Rate: Fast
    • Foliage: Bright green in the summer. 
      Leaves turn brown in the fall.
  • Bottlebrush Buckeye (Aesculus Parviflora)

    Bottlebrush buckeye shines brilliantly in the fall. This is a lovely spreading native shrub with striking white summer blooms. Light shade to full sun.

    • Height: 12' to 15'
    • Width: 12' to 15'
    • Growth Rate: Slow
    • Foliage: Medium to dark green leaves.
  • Camelia Japonica (Camellia Japonica)

    Camelias are an evergreen shrub with gorgeous flowers that bloom in winter and spring. The camelia japonica is an excellent choice for a blooming evergreen hedge that rarely needs pruning. Light shade.

    • Height: 4' to 15'
    • Width: 4' to 8'
    • Growth Rate: Slow
    • Foliage: Dark green leaves. 
      Flowers are white, pink, red, or variegated, depending on the cultivar.
    • Popular cultivars:
      • Pink Perfection: Light pink flowers
      • Professor Sargent: Bright red flowers
  • Camelia Sasanqua (Camellia Sasnqua)

    Provides excellent color during late fall and early winter. Suitable for foundations, borders, or focal areas. Can be used as espaliered specimen. Sun or shade.

    • Height: 4' to 15'
    • Width: 4' to 8'
    • Growth Rate: Slow
    • Foliage: Deep green leaves. 
      Flowers are white, pink, or red, depending on the cultivar
    • A popular cultivar is:
      • Kanjiro: Pink and red flowers
  • Chinese Dogwood (Cornus Kousa)

    Beautiful, small flowering tree with graceful limbs and beautiful white flowers in the spring. Has a lovely winter silhouette. Light shade to full sun.

    • Height: 15' to 25'
    • Width: 15' to 35'
    • Growth Rate: Slow to medium
    • Foliage: Dark green leaves with a waxy bloom underneath. 
      Leaves turn red/purple in the fall. 
      Flowers start light green, turning to white.
  • Chinese Pistache (Pistacia Chinesis)

    A beautiful medium size landscape tree that has magnificent autumn color. A fast grower that requires little care. Light shade to full sun.

    • Width: 20' to 30'
    • Growth Rate: Fast
    • Foliage: Dark green in the summer. 
      Leaves turn orange/red in the fall.
  • Corkscrew Willow (Salix Matsudana 'Tortusosa')

    Distinctly gnarled appearance. Beautiful twisted green foliage. Valued for lovely winter silhouette. Full sun.

    • Height: 20' to 30'
    • Width: 15' to 20'
    • Growth Rate: Medium
    • Foliage: Medium green in the summer. 
      Leaves turn yellow/brown in the fall.
  • Eastern Red Bud (Cercis Canadenis)

    One of the first heralds of spring, the Eastern Red Bud is a native tree that has beautiful pink to lavender flowers. Excellent in naturalized settings and are easy to grow. Light shade to full sun.

    • Height: 20' to 25'
    • Width: 15' to 20'
    • Growth Rate: Medium to fast
    • Foliage: Medium green leaves in the summer. 
      Leaves turn yellow in the fall. 
      Flowers are lavender/pink.
  • Ginko (Ginkgo Biloba)

    An ancient species, ginko is also called maidenhair tree and is unsurpassed for its brilliant fall color.  Its carefree nature and dinstinct leaf shape, make it one of our favorite garden trees.  Full sun.

    • Height: 50' to 80'
    • Width: 30' to 40'
    • Growth Rate: Slow
    • Foliage: Rich emerald green 
  • Japanese Zelkova (Zelkova Serrata)

    A fine specimen tree for home gardens. The rapid growth and beautiful green foliage make it an excellent choice for the landscape. Great color in fall. Full sun.

    • Height: 45' to 70'
    • Width: 45' to 50'
    • Growth Rate: Fast
    • Foliage: Green leaves in the summer. 
    • Leaves turn yellow/orange/red in the fall.
  • Niobe Willow

    Beautiful cultivar of weeping willow. A little more upright in habit. Full sun.

    • Height: 30' to 50'
    • Width: 30' to 50'
    • Growth Rate: Fast
    • Foliage: Bright green leaves
