Maple / Acer

No other tree genus has as many species valued for their ornamental qualities in gardens as does the Maple (Acer), at least in temperate climates. It is the elegant foliage and growth habit of many maples that makes them so attractive to gardeners. The effects of autumn on the Maple tree are nothing short of stunning.  Wonderful for a shade tree. 

Cultivation: While not too particular about soils, most trees maple trees grow best in deep, well-drained soil.  Light shade or full sun.

  • Autumn Blaze

    • Height: 40' to 50'
    • Width: 40' to 50'
    • Growth Rate: Fast
    • Foliage: Green leaves in the summer.
      Leaves turn to red in the fall.
  • October Glory

    • Height: 40' to 50'
    • Width: 25' to 30'
    • Growth Rate: Fast
    • Foliage: Dark green leaves with gray underneath.
      Leaves turn red to red/orange in the fall.
  • Red Maples

    • Height: 40' to 60'
    • Width: 30' to 40'
    • Growth Rate: Fast
    • Foliage: Dark green leaves with a white/gray underside.
      Leaves turn yellow/orange/red in fall.
